Port Stephens Fun
Hey Friends!
I know I’ve been MIA, but that’s just because I’ve been having so much fun in Australia! Two weekends ago I was able to go to Port Stephens for the day. With all that Port Stephens has to offer, I knew it was going to be a great day. We started off going on the dolphin cruise. I had been on one before and hadn’t seen too many dolphins so I didn’t have high hopes of seeing any. However, that wasn’t the case at all! The captain spotted a pod of dolphins within the first 10 minutes we were out! We ended up following the pod around so I was able to capture some great photos and see dolphins only 50 metres away from the boat! It was amazing and the dolphins were very willing to pop up and say hello.
After all the dolphin excitement, I didn’t think the day could get any better, but it did. We had the opportunity to go on sand dunes and ride a camel! The sand dunes were crazy fun. It was intimidating sitting at the top of the hill, looking down 50 metres to a sand pit, but I held on to the board and flew down. It was exhilarating sitting on this thin board slidding down a hill of pure sand. That description doesn’t even do it justice.
After about 6-7 trips up and down the sand dune, we headed back so we could ride the camels. Riding the camels was really cool. Sitting on the camel as it strode along, was like a sway kind of motion. We walked along the beach and the camels got their feet wet. It was relaxing and a fantastic experience overall. I would recommend this trip to anyone. The weather, our tour guide Ronnie, and Port Stephens itself was just an amazing trip.
